A church in downtown Ottawa... don't know the name, but I was told it was the Notre Dame...

You've done a very good job capturing the color and the lighting of the place. The fact that it is crooked is distracting though... along with that I know that the arcitecture is symetrical and the photograph is not. The pillar on the left hand side is also distracting.

The best bet would be to shoot this with a vertical format from the aisel in the center to get things lined up. Keep the camera as level as possible (avoid pointing it up) - this prevents the keystone effect where parallel lines converge (like the walls). If possible, shoot from the chior loft or similar place and soom in to crop away the unwanted elements. This should let you get the alter (without cutting it off) and the ceiling.

Thank you for all the helpful advice... much appreciated.. yea, it is a little crooked... and I never even noticed the pillar on the left... it kinda blended into the background... I didn't really want to go into the aisles and start taking pictures, since there were people there at the time... so I just kinda sat at the back and candidly took some shots... but they did have a upper balcony, which if I do go back... maybe next week, I can try again and use your advice!
